The Safe-D-Guard is also very easy to fit, requiring no tools, and can be removed from inside your car in seconds for easy access to your boot. It attaches via small shelves that sit on the seat tops, Velcro that fastens around your head rest poles, and a spring loaded bend that keeps your Safe-D-Guard firmly in place.

N.B. Most if not all traditional dog guards have to be removed from within your boot space, because of the fittings used. But if your boot lock fails or gets damaged say from a rear end collision, it can be very difficult to get your dog quickly and safely out of your car.

The Safe-D-Guard is designed as a barrier to prevent your dog leaving the boot, and to keep dog hairs, smells and paws away from the rest of your car. The guard is not designed to protect your dog or passengers in the event of a collision or car accident, although the increased visibility and lack of trap hazards does provide certain advantages over other dog guards. In the interest of dog safety each Safe-D-Guard is designed with a small gap around the edges to maintain good airflow. It is designed to be used in conjunction with your rear seats, and will not fit correctly with your front seats.
